Melli EcoDesign released a collaboration product with the aid organization World Vision Finland in May 2023. This collaboration resulted in a charming baby gift set, perfect for expecting mothers or fathers. It also makes a thoughtful gift for a colleague expecting a child. You can send the gift set directly from our online store to the recipient. We will include a handwritten note with your personalized message.
The baby gift set features Melli’s popular “Bambis in the Leaf Rain” design. The set includes a baby’s ribbed beanie, a muslin cloth, and vanilla-colored mittens.
Melli EcoDesign is a responsible children’s and women’s clothing brand from Jyväskylä. We manufacture Finnish children’s and women’s clothing that is suitable for those with allergies and sensitive skin due to the materials used. All our products are responsibly made at our own sewing factory in Palokka, Jyväskylä. Our products have been awarded the Avainlippu symbol, which signifies Finnish work.

For every Melli EcoDesign baby gift set sold, €5 will be donated to World Vision Finland’s maternity package initiative.
Through this initiative, underprivileged mothers in rural Kenya receive a maternity package that includes sterile delivery tools, a baby sling, a mosquito net, and baby clothes. The maternity package encourages expectant mothers to attend prenatal care and give birth at a health center rather than at home.

Currently, there is a need for approximately 1,000 maternity packages in Ngoswet, Kenya. Ngoswet is located in Western Kenya, about 400 kilometers from Nairobi. This rural area consists of dozens of small villages. Around 38,000 people live in the area, many of whom live below the poverty line. The region faces challenges such as a lack of clean water and the resulting diseases, as well as low standards in education and healthcare. Each maternity package helps reduce infant and maternal mortality and gives newborns a more equal start in life. Babies born in a health clinic receive a birth certificate, which is required for important milestones like completing primary school exams and accessing health services. It provides the child with a more dignified life and the ability to manage their affairs, including legal matters. World Vision Finland is one of the largest aid organizations in Finland and an independent part of the world’s largest child sponsorship organization. Fundraising permit (RA/2021/1328).
